The Nürburgring: GAZOO Racing's roots and an evolving challenge

TOYOTA GAZOO Racing World Rally Team begins a sequence of seven successive gravel challenges that will decide the 2026 FIA World Rally Championship when the legendary Acropolis Rally in Greece stages round eight of the season.

Elfyn Evans has won Rally Japan for the third time in four years, leading a 1-2-3-4 finish for the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing World Rally Team on home roads. Sébastien Ogier and Sami Pajari joined Evans on the podium with local hero Takamoto Katsuta completing the top four.

TOYOTA GAZOO ROOKIE Racing (TGRR), a team formed by the merger of GAZOO Racing and ROOKIE Racing, competed in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring again, following its participation in 2025. The race represents Morizo’s roots and symbolizes GR’s philosophy of making ever-better motorsports-bred cars. With a team centered on young drivers supported by veterans, the team also took on the challenge of rapidly developing talent and refining the car through actual competition.

The TOYOTA GAZOO Racing WRC Challenge Program’s fourth generation drivers Rio Ogata and Kanta Yanaguida took part in the first gravel round of this year’s Finnish Rally Championship in Imatra, finishing second and fourth respectively in their class.

TOYOTA GAZOO Racing World Rally Team will set its sights on securing another home victory when Rally Japan takes place on a new earlier date of May 28-31 to host round seven of the 2026 FIA World Rally Championship.
